Halifax's quintessential black box, The Bus Stop Theatre, is turned into a conduit for philosophical reflection about the meaning of the term "black box." Nick Bottomley and Clare Waque weave theatre and digital media together to explore the idea of black boxes. Their artist statement asks: "From the Black Boxes in airplanes that mathematically record error, to Pandora's Box of evil, to Wittgenstein's lovely beetle and Schrodinger's dead cat, the question is raised: what is created within the walls and if those walls could remember the experiences they contain would they be able to sleep at night?" These various forms are tied together at 2203 Gottingen, with the help of a good amount of actors, of course. If these walls could talk. —SJ
