This tightly packed sushi joint serves up some tantalizing experiments with mango, banana, asparagus and sweet potato, but stays true to fresh fish, too. Maybe the reason that people love Wasabi House is the bold fish-fruit combinations, or maybe it’s the regular freebies that chef Richard Wu sends over to customers. Either way, Wu has captured our attention with his experimental combinations; from tightly rolled pairings of subtle cucumber and marinated mushroom, to extravagant towers of salmon and lobster. Wu’s personal favourite is eel and crab—salty with the sweet.
