Moving to Blowers Street has brought a new customer base into Pretty Things, says owner Cadence Macmichael. From the downtown professional to the tourist to the loyal customers who followed the business from Cunard Street, business at the boutique is booming. The fact of a larger store has also helped, with Macmichael being able to offer more stock and a broader selection of clothes in many sizes. “I’m one of the only places downtown that offers plus-size clothes for professional women,” she says. “Girlfriends like that they can all come in and shop together.” Also a big deal the website’s Miss Pretty Things Contest, open to women of “any shape, size or colour.” The celebration party for the winner is November 5.
