Down but not out, the Gardens are clearly one of the most treasured public spaces, as the generous response to the recent “Sunday For the Gardens” fundraiser demonstrated. When it re-opens next year it won’t look the same but chances are it will still be the best place to enjoy your ice cream on a lazy summer day.
