Best Place To Impress Out-of-towners

The Halifax Waterfront

Between the dockyards just south of Pier 21 and the shipyards just north of that stretch of DND land, SuperCitizens have got themselves a couple of pretty fantastic museums, a handful of great restaurants (well, only one has really great food; the others, great views), those Historic Properties with their fine little shops and galleries and plenty of boarwalk for a late-night ship-gazing stroll. There’s beachfront too, if you want to call it that, way down Point Pleasant Park way, and a sculpture to, uh, climb. In the summer there are festivals and buskers and bagpipers, if that’s your thing, and street theatre by the incomparable Zuppa Circus, not to mention the alFresco filmFesto—the city’s best summer activity. And even in the winter when you think it might be a little too cold and a little too windy, it’s more beautiful than ever because there are no tourists blocking the view and the harbour doesn’t smell quite so bad. So yeah. You may be on to something here.

Runner-up: The Citadel
