Yes, stadium seating is pretty cool, and having a New York Fries venue in the multiplex foyer offers a welcome alternative to the sugar and popcorn, but nothing beats the experience of going to see a movie in a grand, single-screen theatre, and having to choose between the comfy front seats and the balcony leg room. That Empire Theatres has also programmed some of the best pictures to come to town for The Oxford, adds to its cache: If you saw Volver , The Lives of Others or Across The Universe you probably saw it, and loved it, there.
