“I kinda feel like this is a joke,” says Halifax Atlantic MLA Brendan McGuire on his second straight win as our readers’ favourite provincial representative. He was equally incredulous last year. The vice chair for the Liberal government’s community services committee and member of the law amendments and public accounts committees says two years into his first term he still doesn’t feel like a politician. Some lingering self-doubt from not being the most popular kid in school. “It might have been the mullet,” he says. “You don’t expect a guy who was a pipe-fitter from Spryfield to win anything.”
