Thom Fitzgerald is what we like to call a mover and shaker, but not for the reasons you might think. It’s his ability to rattle our perceptions and truths with his art---most recently with 3 Needles, which examines the personal and the political realities that AIDS has on a group of seemingly unrelated characters. In October, he took the director’s cut to Rio for a festival, and then it was back to Halifax for a benefit screening on behalf of the Nova Scotia Gambia Association. In August it screened at the 2006 AIDS Film Festival, as part of the International AIDS conference in Toronto.
