“Business is definitely good,” says the Mic Mac’s Joel Chiasson, which—if you’ve ever eaten there—is pretty obvious. The total landmark isn’t ever not packed to the rafters. “We’re a destination point. People go out of their way to come to us.” With two years in its new location under its belt, the family-owned restaurant, over 50 years old, continues to thrive, with its beloved steaks, ribs, breakfasts and fish cakes keeping tables—and bellies—full in Dartmouth. “We have a very high standard and we take a lot of pride in our food,” says Chiasson. “We cut all of our steaks in house. Everything is homemade. And our secret spice definitely attributes to that. Only the owner knows the recipe.”
