This year, Waverley Road’s Mic Mac Bar & Grill beats out Henry House and Emma’s Eatery, which took home the title for Best Fish Cakes for four consecutive years. So what gives their fish cakes the edge over the rest? Haddock, a little salt cod, onions and potato cooked up on a flat top grill and served up as an appetizer or with potatoes and salad, keeping it simple and traditional. Does the staff recommend them? “Oh god, yeah,” says one server. Sounds like an easy sell to us.
