This 19-year-old wax legend (how’s that for a telling description?) is revered by peers far and wide. He started scratching in 1997 with his papa’s Technics 1500 turntable, sticking close to his basement. He entered the DJ Olympics in the summer of ’98 after his mum told him about it and some god-send on the phone at Revolution Records convinced him to give it a shot. He grabbed third place in the hip-hop category. Since then, Skratch Bastid’s won the International Turntabulist Federation regionals, three consecutive DJ Olympics and your Coast Readers’ Poll recognition.
