In recent years, a host of seasonal craft fairs have popped up in our fair city. It’s like Etsy, but in real life! The inaugural gold winner of the new Best Craft Fair category, the Halifax Crafters Winter Market, started small at the Khyber with fewer than 20 crafters nine years ago. Now, it’s expanded to the Olympic Centre with over 80 crafters, and become a key part of Christmas-season shopping for Haligonians looking for one-of-a-kind gifts---whether or other people or themselves, we’re not asking. This year’s winter market will be held on December 1 and 2. Be there and you’re on the way to a very crafty holiday.
