Beeler’s bluegrass background made her a shoo-in for this Gold win. “I think emotion, real-life stories and sincere lyrics make a great songwriter in general, especially a country one,” Beeler says. Though she may be turning toward a more pop-rock sound lately, her roots are country-fried and, let’s face it, a good heartbreaking song is a good heartbreaking song, whether you’re depositing tears in your beers or throwing up devil horns.
