Best Community Project, Hope Blooms

All respect to former Dragon Arlene Dickinson—who helped greenlight their community-garden-made salad dressing line—but given their drive and commitment, the inspiring folks at Hope Blooms were always destined for great things. This year the young entrepreneurs opened their own greenhouse in the north end to expand Hope Blooms’ product line and grow delicious veggies all year round. The equally tasty and similarly local Common Roots Urban Farm moves to second-place this year, while the awesome photogs at Halifolks capture the city and our hearts in third place.
