There’s something magic about Two If By Sea. Something more than mugs of Anchored Coffee and five-pound buttery croissants. The cafe’s co-owner and baker, Tara MacDonald, credits TLC for the loyal following at TIBS. “Zane [Kelsall, her co-owner] and I have always stayed true to our really basic vision of creating yummy treats and delicious coffee in an atmosphere that’s inclusive of everyone,” she says. “Over the years, we’ve been approached with ideas of expansion, catering, mobile TIBS options, but it’s never jived with what we started out to do. Maintaining this vision is our staff, 100 percent. They rule the show. We always wanted to be better than the best boss we ever had. Hard stop. I think we do this and it makes for a happy TIBS.”
