The fans have spoken, repeatedly, and Charlie A’Court has their vote. A’Court is also nominated as an ECMA Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the year, with a vote open to the public on the ECMA site. He took time out of touring Australia to express his thanks. “It has to go beyond people believing you can sing or play exceptionally well. Technical skills are one thing but It’s about having a connection with people, an emotional bond that matters. When you have that at the core of a show it really doesn’t matter what genre you’re playing,” he says. “Everyone has something they’re going through and for a short time they put their trust in me to either take their minds off it or to perhaps help them make sense of it, through music. That’s heavy and very humbling.” A’Court’s next local gig is April 26 at Stayner’s.
