Beady Eye

Different Gear, Still Speeding (Maple)

Made up of three of the five members of the now defunct Oasis, Beady Eye sounds like Oasis, but worse. With the leaving of Noel Gallagher in 2009 from Oasis, bass player Andy Bell (formerly of shoegaze-lite band Ride) has taken over as a lead guitarist and songwriter for Beady Eye. Sadly, his work with Gallagher doesnt lend itself to the power of Ride’s historic run and early Oasis. But don’t worry Oasis fans, this foray into new territories won’t last long for the former members. As Gallagher sings on “Kill a Dream”: “Life’s too short not to forgive/I’m here if you want to call.” So pick up the phone, Noel.
