This is the time of year---now that it's been 20 degrees for more than three days straight---that we start piling our totes full of books and heading for nearby docks, rocks and shores. Saturday, June 16 will help you pick out your summer's worth with writers running all over the province in celebration of Atlantic Author Day selling and signing their wares at bookstores from Wolfville to Truro. (Get over 50 Shades, OK? Over it.) It is a region-wide event, with shops and venues in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland featuring similar days. At home, the diverse lineup---it's basically like a one-day traveling Evolve for writers, with a schedule grid and everything---includes Donna Morrissey (Kross Katie Cross), Gloria Ann Wesley (Chasing Freedom), Darryll Walsh (Ghosts of Nova Scotia), Erin Arsenault (Gus the Tortoise Takes A Walk), Pamela Callow (Tattooed) and way more. Keep an eye out for the limos and publicity teams (har) on Saturday and in the meantime check out the schedule at the link and start packing the car. --Tara Thorne
