Thom Fitzgerald’s Cloudburst took your hearts with its tale of two longtime partners on a road trip to Nova Scotia to get married. Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker play Stella and Dotty, a very much in-love couple who go on a Thelma & Louise-style escape after Dotty is moved into a nursing home. Fitzgerald’s characters blend sweet and sassy, to resonate with audiences everywhere. Cloudburst took the 2011 Atlantic Film Festival audience award, and remains number one for you today.
