This trial's been a long time coming. Thousands of years later, Greek hero Odysseus is about to face a wrongful death suit for the slaughter of the suitors. This clever retelling of a classic story is a fundraiser put on by law students from Dalhousie, with proceeds supporting Halifax Humanities 101. The program offers a humanities program (sort of like the first year of an arts degree) to people who haven't had the chance to attend university, with courses taught by professors from Halifax's universities. Law students, practitioners and theatre students join forces for this mock trial, with the final verdict decided by students enrolled in the Halifax Humanities program. One of the event's organizers, Michael Murphy promises witnesses dressed in togas (including CBC's Costas Halavrezos) an appearance from the cyclops (Dr. Laura Penny) and of course, an afterparty fit for a Greek king. Guilty or innocent? Here's a chance to see for yourself.
