Canadian theatre legend Philip Akin has earned his acting stripes with more than 30 years' experience and a role as artistic director of Obsidian Theatre, Canada’s leading Black theatre company. Now, Akin brings his skill and style to the Dal stage, directing a vision of A Midsummer Night's Dreamset in a harsh, bleak labour camp that the workers can only escape through dreaming. And, as he adds via email, "the freedom of the dream has the power to transform everything."
