A critical bastard speaks

To the editor,

I don't understand why the Top Ten Video Games ("Ten to One," Dec 8) list reads like something out of the Herald!! Argh! I couldn't believe it! Zelda, Resident Evil, Civ 4, sure, totally mainstream—but still totally worthy. But The Coast values substance over flash, doesn't it? So what's up with Smackdown vs Raw, Socom, Battlefield and Burnout Revenge? Not to mention San Andreas on the PS2 was LAST year's game. Where the hell is Shadow of the Colossus? We Love Katamari? Underdog games real people will still appreciate six months down the road? Personally, I think you should have gotten that Greg guy who hangs out at Game-world to write that list. He used to work for Electronic Gaming Monthly, I think. Awesome games mag. It still is. Anyway, I'm a critical bastard, but I love my games and I think your readers would be able to appreciate a games list with a little more depth.

PS. I'm really glad people complained so strongly about that stupid, stupid Christmas Daddies article last week. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
