Do you know why there are so many Casion's people ?
Because they make a profit...a very big profit.
No one is forcing anyone to play at these places & no one is being forced to play at a government run gambling site.
Since the suck...I mean gamblers are going to play anyway, I would much rather see govenment profit from it than say, the Mafia.
The Government will undoubtably waste much of the profits, (they waste so damn much tax dollars now) I can't see how this will change anything. BUT one can be hopeful that with this large revenue stream the rest of us will see smaller tax increases to pay for the asshol...I mean Politicians wasteful ways.
SO since I don't gamble & I do pay taxes, I could possibly come out ahead by this !
Perhaps the GST will even be lowered again ! !

Why are prominent NDP supporters not outraged and out in public expressing disgust at the plan to give more people the heartache of addictive gambling ?
The Raging Grannies appear not to be outraged, must be under central NDP office instructions to stay away from the library.
Anyone who heard the two interviews won't be bothered by the alleged failure of Connolly to wipe the deck with Steele. You don't need a high IQ to realise that Connolly just let Steele hang himself.

Interesting new avatar. If you had any balls you'd post the lyrics to the song or perhaps you don't know enough German to be able to translate.

After reading this and yet another of Bruce Wark's black holes of thought on renewable energy (wind sucks, hydro sucks, oil sucks...just live in the dark, you fools!), I'm happy to see The Coast is redistributing its wealth to the remaining cadre of encrusted socialists in Nova Scotia.

Not too much wealth though, I hope, lest Tim get spoiled and feel entitled.

Really, this is an truly insulting piece to every entrepreneur in your midst who aspires to earn more than the average income (or perhaps just more than Tim or Bruce) while not turning the city into a scene from "There Will Be Blood."
