Comandante - you'll be voting for Fred I presume; although I hesitate to think the other candidates qualify under the heading 'manager'.
Fred gets excited about Halifax, he is an entrepreneur and he is not 'just another politician'.

The folks who run things in these here parts all seem to be hearing the same voice out in the cornfield, the one that says "If you build it, they will come". Whether it's a stadium, a convention centre or more "skyscrapin' buildings made of concrete and steel" the local movers and shakers seem to think that a "Field of Dreams" happy ending can be achieved by simply building the things that one associates with the Big City and leave the worry about filling them with businesses and people until long after the concrete is all poured.

On a related note, a few years ago a local businessman struggled to open and then operate a strip club in Dartmouth, against some vocal community opposition.

Paragraph 3 sentence 3 - the longest sentence The Coast has ever printed.
You win the Conrad Black award for Great Descriptive Prose in One Sentence. I suspect you may have read his widely acclaimed 1360 page book about Roosevelt.
