Whenever I can, I sit in the first row, aisle seat because otherwise I get severe motion sickness... I should probably wear a sign that says "feel free to take the window seat" because I do feel like a huge douche. I do, however, think people would prefer to think I'm a douche than to endure my vomit???
no_fool, so because you were supposedly misdiagnosed and don't have bipolar, it doesn't exist and nobody has it?
And being someone who isn't bipolar and doesn't have to go through that, I could never say it's a scam. Although I can't know for sure, I think if I did have that kind of personality, I would like to believe there are medications to help me. It's very easy for someone who doesn't have to go through something to say it doesn't exist, because you don't understand it in the sense that you don't experience it, and can never know how it feels to have the mind of another.
These drugs fuck people up way more than they help them if they are on the wrong ones, but benefit them immensely if they can find the ones that work for them (which is one of the hardest things to accomplish for some people). What works for some, doesn't work for others, and vice versa... so of course people are going to get messed up going through several that don't work, but it can be worth it in the end. If bipolar doesn't exist... then I've met a few people who go back and forth between extreme unnatural happiness to severe depression with no apparent cause their whole lives... so if you don't want to put a label on that extreme behavior then so be it, but when medication helps them with their moods and those around them as a result... I'd be glad to call it bipolar.
Where I work, if anyone that wasn't the manager gave customers free food/drinks because the debit machine wasn't working... they would get in serious shit. Even though it's annoying, the drive through workers have to ask the people to come in and pay at the counter's debit (I know this defeats the purpose of a drive though... ) but you can't expect a cashier who doesn't know how to fix the problem to have the authority to be giving away free product. Personally, I'd like to make all the customers happy (within reason), but if I had to choose between making a customer happy and keeping my job... I'd probably play by the rules and keep making the big bucks (...not very big bucks).
