I dont understand what the attraction is or what all the Buzz is re. the Bicylce Thief.
I have been there twice. The first time was with a group on a Friday nite and the atmosphere was fun. THe only reason I am giving it 1 Star !
The food at the Bicycle Thief sucks ! After 2 trips I have yet to order anything that I like. The first time I ordered the Tuna tartar as an App which was digusting so I sent it back. This time I ordered a Calamari which was deep fried and tasteless. So I ordered the Scallops which were the small bay scallops severed on what seemed like BBQ Sauce.
My out of town guest had the Zuppa and commented that the lobstered seemed OLD.
Perhaps you think that we are picky. Well the couple sitting next to us sent both their Entrees back. After which Maurazio the owner came out and confronted them like the "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld.
But my biggest beef with the BT comes from the arrogant staff. On my second visit the waiter asked if I wanted another drink. After 10-15 min passed I went to the bar to get it thinking he must have forgot. That seemed to bother the waiter more than it bothered me since he never came back to the table again and when he finally did to collect the plates he never spoke.
Who needs that type of attitude from a waiter in an over priced restauarant with average food.
Two nites later we went to Talay Thai and had amazing thai food for half the price !
Dont buy into the hype. Hfx has much better restaurants like Gio or Onyx.
