I've had people say this to me too, but I have a sensitivity to natural sunlight that will give me a severe migraine if I don't wear sunglasses. I have to wear them on most overcast days as well. We know we look like idiots, but its either look silly or be in severe pain for days. If these were your choices what would you choose? Maybe she has the same sensitivity I do, it's not all that rare
