Re: “Where the bodies are buried

Corrections:
"Titanic Belfast's creation story, as told in countless press reports, involves a city so desperate to untangle itself from Ireland's sinking economy, that it was willing to lay bare one of the biggest blemishes in its history. "

Belfast is in Northern Ireland, not the Republic of Ireland, and is part of the UK economy. They aren't part of the Republic's failing economy. In fact, people from the Republic are increasingly working and shopping across the border in Northern Ireland. Titanic Belfast is about moving past Northern Ireland's 30 year civil war known as "The Troubles"... and increasing tourism obviously.

The city has been in a tourism boom for the past few years, and Titanic Belfast should increase their worldwide reputation. The Titanic is considered a point of pride in their long shipbuilding history, not a blemish. As they told me while I was over there (filming a documentary on the city): "The Titanic was fine when she left here" and "Belfast built, an Englishman sunk it."

Re: “Halifax Pop Explosion Initial Lineup

Psyched. Bought my bracelet day 1. Can't wait to wait on line for Fucked Up, The Rural Alberta Advantage, The Thermals, Plants and Animals, Les Breastfeeders, Library Voices (!) and so many more!

I don't know how I'll choose!

Re: “Jenn Grant Makes Polaris Long List

Lots of great albums this year, but I would give it to The Rural Alberta advantage if it was my decision.

Re: “Dalhousie "abortion debate" is a farce

This article is farcical at best.

You didn't enjoy Dr. Mercer's arguments and somehow that's the fault of the Pro-Life side?

It sounds to me like your (the writer's) problem is that neither side advanced the exact particulars of your own ethical arguments. Their duty of course, was to address their own ethical particulars, not yours.

Dr. Mercer is not only a respected professor, but for many years has been the most popular columnist in The SMU Journal, and he is also frequently published in the Ottawa Citizen. (http://www.ottawacitizen.com/life/need+fre…) Any impartial individual who looked at his record, and strong support of civil libertarianism, would deem him an obvious choice for a debate such as this.

Accusing the Pro-Life society of trickery and defaming Dr. Mercer simply because you disagreed with his arguments is shameful.
