On further reflection this situation may have all the ingredients for another legal conundrum for HRM.
Does UG have a deed to the property?
Does the deed reference a "buy back provision?
Is the deed registered in the Registry office for deeds?\If not,why not?
Is the purported buy back agreement registered with the Registrar of deeds? If not,why not?
Is it legally valid and binding viv-a-vis a subsequent purchaser if not registered?
What is to prevent UG from selling the property to any willing purchaser who is entitled to rely on the validity of title in the Registry ofice?
What is the status of any creditor of UG who relied on the property as an asset and holds a fixed and floating charge on all of UG's property? They may not readily give it up.
And on and on.Documents destroyed, documents concealed, documents "not for public inspection",councillors not allowed to release pertinent info.
When is HRM going to come out of the closet and expose it's dealings to the purification of the sun.
See you in court---again,probably with expensive outside counsel
Maybe I am missing something, but would'nt an agreement for purchase and sale and/or an actual sale with a buy back clause be registered with the registry of deeds to protest future potential purchasers.
Personally I would be quite perturbed to have bought the property from UG and find out later that I did.nt have a perfect title.
Is'nt this somewhat akin to the Pelley deal in the North end
It is just taking advantage of a misguided, inexperienced Premier who fell in love with renewable energy to the detriment of our economy.
However it has been a great investment from the Shareholders standpoint.Talk about unintended consequences.

Thank Darrel---I have enjoyed a ratepayer financed winter in the warm southern climate
Their operation of the Metro Centre, transit, rinks, wastewater facilities Washmill underpass and disposal of surplus assets does not inspire confidence in their ability to conduct any business asset.
I wish the 18 month suggested time frame applied to Canada Revenue
It is difficult to wind up an estate and make a final distribution without a clearance certificate from them and that can take years.
You are either with me or against me.
If you don't like the way I run my business, then start you own,but don't bring your philosophy and/or antagonism into mine
Re: “Mike Savage”
So far so good.
Would like to see action on his campaign discussion Re: establishing Community Councils with general power over community matters.bicycle routes in Halfax, spaying cats. Some of those thngs really have little relevance to Musqoidoboit.
In other words concentrate on major issues and leave the small stuff to smaller groups
