Good final summary, there - Blumenthal *is* a good egg. He faithfully responds to every email & phone call I've sent him, and there've been many. I'd probably really enjoy having a backyard beer with him, and I wish him a happy retirement freed from his council responsibilities.

Having said that, his voting record shows his misplaced priorities, parochial leanings and often poor judgement.

Probably Halifax's best pub. The wait staff are efficient and polite, the food is much better than standard pub fare - apparently everything's made in-house from scratch - and the space is cozy and friendly. We reserved the Snug (the small side-room that sits about 20-25) for a party once and weren't even charged for it. I've never had a bad experience here.
