Sorry to see you go. Thank you.
It now seems like the new Convention Center will be abandoned. This should be formally announced before the October election so the new council and mayor don't have to deal with this financial catastrophe in waiting. The allocated funds have been tied up for long enough. The developer should have to pay some sort of interest on this money while it is in limbo.
There was also a punk/new wave venue above where 5 Fishermen is now, and a big one in Dartmouth near the ferry. IMO the Brunswick Street Social Club space mentioned by yokel was the best of all the 70s and 80s venues.
Interesting story Mr. Bousquet. Is it just me, or does it seem like the Coast puts on a big liquor push during frosh week each and every year? How about a story about the consequences of heavy drinking, both short and long term?
Congratulations! This comic is great and should be syndicated around the world.
Jobs are already shifting from the urban core to the suburban areas (RIM,etc) and more people can stay home and work online now. In another 10-20 years, the peninsula's traffic problem will disapear on its own.
Re: “Seeking women”
Learn some music history. Female rockers like Pat Benatar, Chrissie Hynde, Sass Jordan and Darby Mills ruled the charts in the 70s and 80s. Wendy O'Williams was an alt punk goddess and Parachute Club were spectacular. All of these women knew how to entertain. Get your faces off facebook, stop whining, and learn from the past.
