I live in house assessed at $317,000 in Kingswood and I wouldn't mind at all paying the $4800 tax bill if I received services. The only service we receive is water but most in this neighbourhood are on a well. We don't have sidewalks, snow removal is poor at best, and the nearest bus service is located 3 km from here. I make sacrifices and work very long and hard to earn enough money to sustain a modest lifestyle and continually update my education to keep my skills valuable. A huge portion of my income goes to Federal and Provincial taxes and for the life of me can't figure out how my property taxes should be so off balanced from the rest of HRM. By all means, explain it to me.
