Why does every single Kristen Pickett food review open up with a description of the weather?
If you were struggling to control your car than what the hell were you doing out in a snow storm? Why didn't you leave your car at home if the weather was bad?
Ugh. A column criticizing polarization which inaccurately compares Harper to Hitler (I hate the guy, but Hitler he ain't) and inaccurately calls the Liberals and Greens "left" is not just feeding the polarization and oversimplification that got us in this mess in the first place. It's a stretch to refer to even the NDP and Bloc as being on the left. A united, anti-capitalist left would be wonderful but if it ever happens in Canada it isn't going to include the pro-capital, pro-war Liberals or the anti-women's rights Elizabeth-May-Vanity-Project.
Cole - this is going to blow your mind, but it is not the job of journalists to be cheerleaders for the city.
Oh fuck. Well there goes any chance I have about getting up on my Dartmouth high horse when it comes to dumb logos on dumb products made by terrible artists.
I normally go to old-school barber shops but I haven't found one I liked in Halifax, so I decided to give One Block a shot when it opened and I was super happy with that decision. It's more expensive than an old-man barber shop ($30 before tax for a men's cut) but a bit less than what you'd pay at a lot of other "salons" in the city. The owner was friendly and welcoming without being unprofessional or intrusive and provided a ton of info and advice about my hair that I never wanted to ask (or knew I should ask) without making me feel like I was being criticized or lectured to. The space was modern, bright and welcoming without feeling like the designer was trying to hard. The haircut itself was the best I've ever had. This is going to be my new go-to spot to get a haircut.
Re: “B-Well is first with Ra-men”
Ramen noodles are not traditionally made with egg yolks. The yellow colouring comes from the use of alkaline salts.
