Only 25 spots remain for those wanting to volunteer at the IWK Health Centre. “They fill up really fast,” says Janet Foley, manager of volunteer resources. “It’s kind of like a double-edged sword: it’s great for us because we never have to recruit, but I hate having to turn anybody away.” IWK volunteers have the opportunity to work in all areas of the hospital, from the emergency room to the maternity ward.
