A great bite
Bad customer service. Didn't fix my bike properly.
Loved it! Delicious, healthy, and affordable meals so close to my home! I will return soon!
He ruined my wedding dress. I nicely pointed out the crooked hem (as well as other tailoring mistakes) and he laughed at me and told me to get an eye exam. I paid him a lot of money and he ruined my wedding dress. He is extremely rude. Avoid this man unless you want to be disappointed.
i booked advantage one day before i moved because the original moving company bailed on me, i had a 2 bedroom apartment and booked them at 9 am, the 2 guys showed up at time, they saran wrapped all my furniture and was professionally stacked in the truck, i was very scared because i had lots of mirrors and glass furniture, but it was all wrapped with saran and blankets and was in the same condition when it was dropped at the other location. i am very glass of there work and i would definitely book them again
I ate here for the first time a week ago... and by "ate here" I actually mean "ordered delivery from here and ate it at home one rainy night when I was too lazy to cook". I was surprised - I thought it was really good and the portions were generous. There were some really good flavours within the food and you could tell it was made by someone who cared. I'd definitely come back here again.... or rather, order from here again!
I really really like this spot. The sushi is on par with the rest of Halifax sushi places (neither amazing nor subpar) but there's something about it that makes it one of my top three sushi houses in Halifax to frequent. Maybe it's the special (cheaper) menu after 9pm, or maybe it's because it's across the street from the Oxford Theatre and it's nice to go see a movie and then pop across the street for some delicious sushi.
Excellent quality clothing and excellent service.
dont really care about this asian grocery but the ownert is severely cheap and keeps shutting hot water off randomly to his tenants 3 out of the 4 past days there has been no hot water in my apt and and its not the first time its happened (over 10 times now) if you really must get asian groceries here i guess you can but you can get most things here in sobeys/ superstore and he mosty likely still sympathizes with NVA
Terrible. After they moved Beth Nada on 05/01/13 (see other review), they came to move my partner and I. We booked them for 6pm. They were seven hours late, showing at almost 1am, and the first thing one of them asked was if it was alright if they go smoke marijuana before they started. I don't think they did, they got moving as they should have considering the time. They damaged the walls on the way out of the building, and our pieces of our furniture were damaged during the move. They followed us to our new flat. The tenants in the flat below us came out angry, of course, because by now it was pushing 2am. One of the movers had the nerve to ask the tenant who came out to complain for a glass of water. She complained they smelled of marijuana. Our landlord had to remove a futon from the flat we were moving into and asked our movers if they could do it. Turns out they could, right in the middle of our booking.... at like 1:45am, while they were clocking our bill. It took them 90 minutes to wrap up the move, start to finish (it was only ten things), but they billed us for the whole two hours they'd quoted us. Nobody gave any excuses for being seven hours late, and no one fessed up to any of the damage, and it went unnoticed until after they'd left with our money.
I find they have too many burger choices, and many of the names don't even give you any slight hint of what is on the burger (such as Sk8er Boy, Hamburger Mary, Beaver Bank, Dynamic Downtown Burger, Growler Five-0, Beverley Hills Lawsuit, Discovery, Hold the Phone, Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love, San Francisco Treat, Not Yo Burger, Denyse's Aphrodisiac, Newsmaker, Ho Hum No. 2, Ho Hum No. 5, Mikey Likes It, Halluvaburger, Shipbuilder's Dream, the Dingle, Tall Ships, Crappy Tire, Man-O-War, Dockyard, Not So Thin Lizzy, Sexy Burger, Huskie's Vacation, Old New Bridge, Etc, Etc, Etc...) I get it, everyone likes a burger with a catchy name, but I find it leads to a whole lot of reading when you are trying to figure out what to order. There are far too many of these gourmet burger places in Halifax, half or more will be gone within a year. It seems all it takes to make a "gourmet" burger is just put normal burger toppings on along with one weird topping and give it some crazy name, oh yeah, I almost forgot the most important part, charge extra for it.
We have had our dog into this groomer since they opened. On our LAST visit the groomer burned our dog under the chin very badly (loonie size). I guess this happens the problem we had was we were told everything went great. A day later her behaviour continued to get more strange and we found the burn (bright red sore infected) after a trip to the vet 100$ we were told the stress and not eating or drinking from the pain could have led to organ shut down in a dog her size not to mention the infection and suffering. The owner of Larry Utek PetValu initially handled the situation well but after his (3rd place ranked in The Coast) groomer called us liars and refused to take responsibility he backed her. This is a family worried about their loved pet not looking for money or a free groom. We walked away from this business and hope others find a groomer who puts the animals safety ahead of their reputation.
3 stars for food only. I had eaten here for years (Since 2008) I used to rave about this place. Over the last 6 months they have gotten my orders wrong, forgot elements of my order, put me on hold of more than 5 minutes. Last night was the final straw, I was put on "hold" the waitress set down the phone and talked to another person about how drunk they the previous night were and their work schedule.
I also hate that they switched to take out containers from the paper to the non-biodegrading kind.
great spot. amazing food. definitely worth the wait.
I recently found this lovely little "hideaway". Wow, food is all fresh and homemade and totally amazing! Atmosphere is so inviting and we were served by one of the owners who is just a great guy and really goes out of his way to make the experience wonderful. Stop by - you won't regret it. I was back within a week for lunch again!
Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
They are moving one of my tenants right now - 7 hours later - after swearing at both myself and my husband when we asked how much longer it would be. They yelled at the tenant when her sister called to complain, and brought her to tears. We deal with a lot of moving companies, but this has got to be the absolute worst. NEVER make the mistake of going with these people - it's not worth it on any level.
The food was excellent, service was excellent and I enjoyed the best glass of wine I've ever had the pleasure of drinking. We were there on a busy Saturday night and still felt that we were priority and were well taken care of. I will definitely return!
The staff are friendly and classy from start to finish; from the first phone call to make an appointment, to picking-up the glasses. The review posted by Francisco is very accurate. Fred's personal sense of style led me to step outside of my comfort zone and trust his (and my husband's) feedback on frames. Love them! Not only do I feel more current with the frame, I can't say enough about the lenses themselves. I wear progressives and am truly pleased with the peripheral vision. Excellent customer service, style and obvious smarts. What more could a consumer want? A+

Re: “Tom's Family Restaurant”
After reading all these comments I am totally surprised that Tom's won Gold!! We have been there several times and except for to much noise it was not bad. Breakfast was a disappointment, but we seldom go there for breakfast. Still not gold though.
