Music Cam Smith is ready
XXL's Ready or Not Rap Battle Singles Challenge shops local

It's always gratifying when someone notices hard work. And when the folks noticing are the hip hop experts at XXL and the hard worker is Cam Smith, it's even better.
Smith was hand-picked by XXL Magazine to compete in their Ready or Not Singles Challenge, where tracks from MCs are voted on by the public for a shot at the final round.
The grand prize winner is chosen by a celebrity judge (the identity of whom is still a secret), they'll receive a write up in XXL and the song will be featured online at XXLMag.com.
Smith, whose recently released Ocean Blue is a smooth blend of '80s synth and autobiographical lyrics, is one of 16 participants battling it out. From August 27th to the 28th Smith's single will go head to head again D-Win from Indianapolis, Indiana.
