Meaghan Smith shines on (500) Days of Summer soundtrack

They even have the Smiths on there, can you believe it? The Smiths! On an indie film soundtrack! Imagine!

Haligonian singer/songwriter Meaghan Smith could quite possibly be one of the main reasons not to punch (500) Days of Summer in the face. Smith’s cover of The Pixies’ “Here Comes Your Man” is featured on the soundtrack, available here.

You can see trailer above and possibly agree with me about wanting to give the film a good swift kick. The trailer starts with a doozy: "You like The Smiths? Holy." Yes, that is incredibly hard to believe! I mean, how could a stylish waif have even HEARD of—-let alone like—-oh, I don’t know, only ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT BANDS EVER? Splutter! Spit-take! B-b-b-but she's a girl! And that band is only for self-absorbed boys! Am I also to believe the Earth is flat? Here's a dating tip for you, Joseph Gordon-Levitt: Don't act so fucking GOBSMACKED when a girl likes something halfway cool.

Bitchery aside, Smith is in good company, because that looks like a good soundtrack.
