Punks of few words

Stop Motion Massacre: Beings of pure light
  • Stop Motion Massacre: Beings of pure light

Stop Motion Massacre play manic punk rock, that, in my personal experience, usually involves one of them taking off their instruments and rolling around on the stage. They have my vote for most compelling vocal performance in Halifax. See them play at Gus' Pub on December 10 with Myles Deck and the Fuzz, The Fat Stupids and The Crimson Tides as a benefit for the IWK.

Scene & Heard: What are you up to right now?

Stop Motion Massacre: We are watching Voyage To The Planet Of The Prehistoric Women together.

S&H: What has been your best band memory so far?

SMM: Playing the last show at the Fjort, the house we all lived in.

S&H: What has been your worst band memory so far?

SMM: It's all been guns and roses man.

S&H: What is the meaning of life?

SMM: Our EP out this February. It will enLIGHTen you.

S&H: What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

SMM: "Don't worry about people not liking your band. No matter what kind of
music you play—-even if it's terrible—-someone will like it. Play for them, and for yourself."

Survey Asks

Do you agree with Halifax's school board cutting 152 teachers?

  • Yes, the board needs to meet its shrinking budget.
  • Only if managers and bureaucracy get a similar cut.
  • I don't care, I support the private education system.
  • No, giving young citizens the best education is too important to cut.
