Wowee! Aquarian band Dog Day is back from CMW and an Ontario/Quebec tour. The band’s playing March 14 at the Seahorse with Immaculate Machine and the Superfantastics.

“It’s a snowy tour and our van is always wet inside,” says Seth Smith (vocals and guitar). “It’s a marsh. I just keep forgetting that winter touring is cold and messy.” Smith, Nancy Urich (bass and vocals), Crystal Thili (keyboards) and Casey Spidle (drums) have been crafting new tunes (continuing efforts from their mega tours last fall) and plan on playing some of them this weekend. “Unfortunately Stan Borden will not be there to hear his whole life story told before hundreds of paranoid art hippies and short-changed drunks,” says Spidle. I’m confused, but glad to hear Dog Day is thinking of the future, new recordings and finding new ways to make me tear my hair out about how awesome the band is. This spring, Smith says, “We’re going to buckle down and start recording a new album.” I’m going to go buy a wig.
