The Harbour City Bar & Grill offers free corkage on NS wines

Prizes, dinners and free parking happening at Delta Halifax resto

The Harbour City Bar & Grill (Delta Halifax, 1900 Barrington Street, 492-6443) is embracing both local suppliers of food and wine and guests who supply their own local wine. Let us explain.

The recently renovated resto---serving succulent dishes crammed with local food ingredients---is supporting wines of Nova Scotia by offering the following deal: If you choose to dine there, order an entree and show up toting a Nova Scotia wine, you won't be charged a corkage fee. And this is true any night of the week.

Furthermore, anyone who makes a dinner reservation by February 29 and brings a bottle of their favourite Nova Scotia wine will have the chance to win dinner for two plus accommodation for one night at the Delta Halifax. Keep in mind there is two-hour complimentary parking for all dinner reservation holders year round.

And, lastly-but-not-leastly, as part of the Nova Scotia Icewine Festival, you can enjoy a Gaspereau Vineyards Winemaker's Dinner on February 3 at 6:30pm, a five-course dining experience offering food with local ingredients paired with Gaspereau's award-winning wines, hosted by Gaspereau's winemaker Gina Haverstock. To make a reservation call 492-6414.

Survey Asks

Do you agree with Halifax's school board cutting 152 teachers?

  • Yes, the board needs to meet its shrinking budget.
  • Only if managers and bureaucracy get a similar cut.
  • I don't care, I support the private education system.
  • No, giving young citizens the best education is too important to cut.
