Korean Tacos?! You bet your fusion-loving butt

Indochine offers new international flavours

Posted by Carsten Knox on Mon, Jan 30, 2012 at 3:40 PM

Indochine Banh Mi (1551 South Park Street, 407-1222) is starting a new Halifax fusion food trend: Korean Tacos. The international mix of traditions was made popular by the California food truck craze, include Korean-style Bulgogi marinated beef, chicken or tofu, wrapped in a warm tortilla and topped with spiced Asian coleslaw, pickled daikon, cucumber, bean sprouts, citrus, mayo and sriracha sauce. It's a quick and healthy option for those who might like to try something different from their popular Vietnamese sandwiches, says Indochine queen Liz Smith. And a little cheaper, too, at $4 each.

Survey Asks

Do you agree with Halifax's school board cutting 152 teachers?

  • Yes, the board needs to meet its shrinking budget.
  • Only if managers and bureaucracy get a similar cut.
  • I don't care, I support the private education system.
  • No, giving young citizens the best education is too important to cut.

Tried these last week -- they are indeed pretty excellent. Yay for Indochine!
