Passage To The Caribbean opens second location

New Caribbean food joint welcome in north end

Posted by Carsten Knox on Mon, Jan 16, 2012 at 4:28 PM

There will be those shouting for joy when they hear a new Caribbean food eatery has opened in the former location of Starlite Cuisine (5467 Cornwallis Street). Especially in January, when a little savory heat is welcome. It's called Passage to the Caribbean Restaurant, actually the second location of the local resto, the first being at 760 Highway 7 (Main Street), the number for both being 405-8999. The new location opened mid-Decamber, and at both places you'll find authentic Caribbean grub prepared by an authentic Caribbean chef, with a number of dishes under $3, including Jamaican patties, jerk pork and curried goat.

Survey Asks

Do you agree with Halifax's school board cutting 152 teachers?

  • Yes, the board needs to meet its shrinking budget.
  • Only if managers and bureaucracy get a similar cut.
  • I don't care, I support the private education system.
  • No, giving young citizens the best education is too important to cut.
