Jessica Ross is providing the city fresh bread once again. She runs an organic bakery in the city called
Gold Island Bakery (
[email protected]). She has a table at the Historic Farmers' Market (also known as The Brewery Market) and runs a bicycle-powered home delivery service through the fall and winter. This week (October 12) she starts up her fall delivery subscription. She bakes the bread in the north end and delivers it to most all points on the peninsula on Wednesdays.
The deadline to sign up is tomorrow! October 10.
Along side the organic sourdough bread (made with Maritime Grown Grain---mostly from Speerville Mills and with some Longspell Point Farms Wheat), she delivers pies, Maritime Artisan Cheeses and her own preserves. She makes jams, pickles and a line of hot sauces made with Nova Scotia hot peppers. The Fall Home Delivery service runs from October 12 until December 14 (10 Weeks).
