Posted by on Mon, Jul 25, 2011 at 4:00 AM

Chef Abod Cafe is a new restaurant at 3217 Kempt Road (455-3881) offering plenty of traditional Middle Eastern food and a few Canadian staples. You'll find plenty of hummus, lamb, okra and falafel dishes to fill you up, as well as burgers and sandwiches. And there's a fixed lunch menu, from 11am to 3pm for $9.99, with free dessert. The cafe is open Monday to Thursday 10am-9pm, Friday and Saturday 10am-10pm.

Incidentally, Chef Abod is both the name of the place and the proprietor, whose resume includes having been head chef and deputy manager at Halifax resto Turkish Delight, personal chef to a member of the Saudi royal family, prince Moshal Bin Abdul Al-Azez, and chef at swanky restaurants in Bahrain and Syria.
