Though there are no reports of popular coffee house Uncommon Grounds (1030 South Park Street, 404-3124) adding venison burgers to their menu, they've still had deer on their tables. Everyone was talking about it on Monday, when a young buck crashed through the plate glass window of the cafe just before 9am, frightening the customers and spilling the java. It loitered in the space for approximately five minutes, according to the CBC, but did not order anything. No one was hurt, and the deer was later captured and sedated in the south end by wildlife staff from the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources, treated for its injuries and released into the woods.
