Big Leagues move

Dartmouth sports bar takes Colby Ale House address

Posted By on Thu, Apr 7, 2011 at 4:00 AM

The Dartmouth sports-bar Big Leagues (920 Cole Harbour Road 462-2721) has recently moved down the street from their location on Forest Hills Parkway into the Colby Village Shopping Centre.

Big Leagues takes over the space formerly used by the Colby Ale House, which is moving a few doors down in the same strip-mall. Jamie Latter, who owns both businesses along with his brother Danny, says the move happened primarily because of landlord disputes.

The new Big Leagues is still settling in, but the doors are open. They're working on a new menu and expect it to be on the tables in two weeks.

Latter says the new Colby Ale House will be a little more high-end than it used to be, in the style of a martini bistro. It's set to open at the end of this week.

The snowbanks are as tall as Citadel Hill and it’s illegal to shovel onto the street, so what should we do with all this snow?

  • Open an artisanal snow cone shop
  • Apply to city hall for a snow fort development agreement
  • Liberals vs. Nova Scotia Teachers Union snowball fight
  • Push it all onto Moncton
