Survey Asks

Do you agree with Halifax's school board cutting 152 teachers?

  • Yes, the board needs to meet its shrinking budget.
  • Only if managers and bureaucracy get a similar cut.
  • I don't care, I support the private education system.
  • No, giving young citizens the best education is too important to cut.

Is this all the coast is doing now? Going to profile every bus driver out there in a large pity party?

It is exactly what you said. Where should the unionized workers stand but behind the union? Just because our system is run one way here and differently somewhere else does not make it inherantly better or worse. I would rather associate myself with anyone in the occupy movement as opposed to uneducated and uninformed blowhards. Maybe you should spend less time on here and more time at Sylvan Learning Centre.

No you idiot. That is not what I said. Way to mix up my words!! Metro Transit is the last remaining transit company in the country that still allows the staff to select their own shifts on a daily basis.

Most of the public is NOT behind the union. Yet the drivers still stand behind them (the union).

Sounds like you need to spend less time on here and more time at the occupy movement.

So by your logic we sould all earn min wage and management's pay should be sky high. Tell me again who sounds brainwashed?

Apparently the union has all their members brain-washed.

Cry me a river Elaine!

Financial hardship? The household income is around $100k! You can't tell me that you have no savings for times like these...

Does Elaine take the bus to get to work or does she drive?

Ken Wilson is not Cesar Chavez and there are a lot of working people harmed by this strike. Both the union and the city have acted shamefully and while you have rightly condemned the city I don't hear the same jeremiads against the union.
The city cannot be evil incarnate and the union angelically pure, I don't see shades of grey in any of your articles about this strike.
The duty of a journalist is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable; $50K a year vs. $10 an hour, who do you think is who?
Give'r buddy:-)
