Sidney Crosby and the Olympic flame
As the crowd goes nuts, hockey superstar looks pretty chuffed to be carrying the torch in his hometown.

"These shots were taken in front of the citadel. The crowd was going nuts, and you could tell that as big of an international star Sidney is, he was feeling the moment and was wearing his pride on his face with a smile ear to ear," Coast freelance photographer Riley Smith says.
"I ran along side hammering out shots with my motordrive," Smith told The Coast, "elbowing through the throngs of cops, coca colympic workers, paparazzi, news media, and the adoring fans."

Great photos. Tried watching it live on CYV but poor camera quality (I think CTV used a webcam) and all the security and print photogs in the way made it impossible to see Sid
Those costumes remind me of the sperm suits in that Woody Allen movie....
Kind of looks like a canoe or kayak. Just a little abstract.
i believe the torch was modeled after a joint (these games are taking place in BC, after all).
What is the torch supposed to be this year? Friggin weird looking.
I am trying to decide who is the bigger star, Sidney or Riley. Great photos of a great moment.
