Just watch it

Nike's "Write the Future" ad is one of the best commercials ever

Posted by Kyle Shaw on Thu, Jun 17, 2010 at 10:35 PM

Normally I'd be embarrassed to blog a YouTube vid that's both old (it went up a month ago) and popular (15 million views). But this three-minute Nike ad, starring a bunch of soccer greats plus other celebs including Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer and Homer Simpon, is so amazing it should have 15 billion views. It's easily one of the greatest commercials that's ever been made. I dunno if that makes "Write the Future" a triumph of filmmaking, or a triumph of capitalism---although I'm happy to watch yet again to try and figure out.

Do you agree with Halifax's school board cutting 152 teachers?

  • Yes, the board needs to meet its shrinking budget.
  • Only if managers and bureaucracy get a similar cut.
  • I don't care, I support the private education system.
  • No, giving young citizens the best education is too important to cut.

This ad would have been a lot better if Soccer didn't blow.

It's too bad you can never see those shots, angles and close-ups during an actual game.
