Lucas Maxwell, the Tantallon Public Library’s youth librarian decided to give the library a gift on its 10th birthday this month. Maxwell wrote a metric tonne of authors asking them to write back, addressed to the Tantallon youth, with a letter describing what they thought the benefits of reading and libraries are. The project has brought in over 55 letters from authors like Robert Munsch, Bill Thomson, Christopher Paolini and Tao Nyeu. Go to halifaxpubliclibraries.ca/branches/locations/tantallon.html to see the full collection of letters and get ready to tear up and think of your childhood.
